16 years old

Today, my son is 16 years old. I can't really believe the time has flown by so much. It seems like just yesterday that I was hiding in my room denying that I was having contractions and then going to the hospital where the most perfect baby boy was put into my arms. 9 lbs 7 ounces. I knew then what unconditional love was all about.

The years have not been all easy. It's not all been roses and wonderful things. As he has gotten older, I have been ready to pull my hair out in frustration at times. He's willful and full of attitude and he's also funny, sweet and can be charming when he wants to be. He's super smart and he writes in a way that I can only wish to be able to do. He's also now taller than me.

Happy Birthday, Nicholas. I love you dearly.
