GIST - The Sunday Edition # 56

Things I am grateful for today

1. Little dogs that wander up to the porch and take up residence. He was wearing a collar with a tag and Elizabeth called the number listed on the tag and he said he didn't have a dog anymore. He had given it away to someone who allegedly lived over 45 miles away so how in the world the dog ended up on our porch is a mystery to me. We decided to let him stay since he suspiciously doesn't have an owner who will claim him. He's an inside dog; you can tell by how he acts. He's house broken and the most cuddly little thing ever. His name is Lucky or Scooter depending on who you ask.

2. A day off that enabled me to get all of my errands run, grocery shopping done, blankets washed, laundry finished, kitchen cleaned up and a really nice meal cooked for supper. Roast with vegetables, mashed potatoes, yams and biscuits and of course, gravy. A bit carb heavy but it was a splurge and worth every bit of time it took to prepare.

4. Having Thanksgiving dinner decided and most of the ingredients on hand to prepare said dinner. I still need to buy a ham because we are not doing turkey but I am going to wait until later in the week to do that.

5. The new bed and the bedding. That is such a comfortable bed and I am sleeping a lot better when I do sleep which seemingly isn't all that much. I hope to work on that in the next few weeks.
