After several busy-ish days at work, I am greatly looking forward to having a couple of days off in a row. I have no specific plans short of getting my house cleaned up and maybe doing some reading. Somehow I never manage to crack a book open during my days off. I have yet to figure out why this is true but it seems to be that way every week.
I made the work schedule for the coming week and worked it out so that we could do short shifts for Thanksgiving. One person requested to work an 8 hour shift so I honored that request. She does Thanksgiving with her family every year a couple of weeks before the actual holiday and always asks to work a full shift every year on the day itself.
I went and picked up Doctor Sleep before I went to work today. I can not wait to dive into it. Chris thinks I am hilarious because I mentioned I have been waiting for this book to come out since I found out Stephen King was even going to write it. I don't think he "gets" why I find reading to be so fulfilling sometimes. Elizabeth has been bitten with the same reading buy (for which I am grateful). This is a relatively new occurrence for her (think: just this school year.) Last year and all the years before I had to practically force her to read enough to get her AR points and this year, she had well over 100 before the first quarter ended at school. At least that is one battle I no longer have to wage.
