Ramblings on a Monday evening

I got up too early today and by 2:30 I needed to take a nap so I did.

We dropped Dad's truck off to have the windshield replaced and while we were there, Lobo fixed my door. The door that has been leaking since they uncrushed the roof. (I know uncrushed is not a word but it's the word I'm using.) It was a fairly simple fix. He simply bent the door in and then took a hammer and straightened out a couple of dented places in the door frame. I don't know why I thought it would be time consuming but it wasn't. It took him approximately 5 minutes to do it. We'll find out for sure if it's actually fixed after it rains (which it is supposed to do later this evening.) They ran a water hose over the whole top of it and that door and it didn't leak so I have my fingers crossed that it won't seep in when it rains.

Chris and I went back to Lumberton today and I bought Elizabeth the teal dress. She was really happy when she got home and I woke up and showed it to her. I can't explain why I wanted her to have THAT dress so much just that she looked amazing in it and it's very rare that I splurge on stuff. She told me she was proud of me for splurging on myself yesterday. I bought 2 purses and she was like "you never buy yourself anything." She's right. I rarely do.

Chris bought my Valentine's present (and it's also going to be my anniversary present but he doesn't know this yet.) I have to wait for them to call me to pick it up because it had to be ordered. I should have known he was up to something when he took me to Ray's and then tried to take me to the Blue Ridge Mining Company (which hadn't opened yet for the day.) I have been telling him that I wanted to get a silver wedding band because I've pretty much transitioned to wearing all silver jewelry and today, he bought me one. It's gorgeous. He's a sneaky one.

Supper tonight was a do it yourself affair with leftovers. I didn't feel like cooking a real meal after scrubbing the kitchen down. Nobody complained though because it was just as good tonight as it was last night.

Amd it's starting to rain outside. Here's hoping the truck won't leak.
